Do
cartoons have positive or negative impact on children’s brain ?
Positive
impact-: Among the
positive effects, scientists distinguish auxiliary role of cartoons : education
of children, additional information about the world and interesting
environment. Cartoon content could teach a kid some positive skills. For instance;
how to be a good leader, analyze problems and manage risk. Also cartoons support
to teach children the rules of behavior in the society (respect for adults,
help the poor ) and enrich the vocabulary (by watching cartoons in a foreign
language).Mostly children receive the pure content of good messages and correctly
adapt them.
Negative
impact-: More
research has been done to clarify the negative effects of cartoons on the
behavior of children. Scientists mainly distinguish health damage, harsh
behavior and sexuality symptoms. On the other hand, a cartoon character with a
negative attitude and demeanor who appears on screen as a hero can illustrate a
child who distorts his/her understanding of the
life and surroundings. Therefore, supervision of parents is essential to
overcome these situations.

I am lowkey offended how the cartoons has became a impact of torture on children's mentality with the time. Because when we were little there were cartoons giving us the mental satisfaction making us creative, and improving our mental health, cultivating good attitudes in our minds not showing us how to slaughter a field of ninjas without any content. So the question lies on where the world is moving towards?
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I would like to point out that I am not satisfy with the relationship between childhood and cartoons telecasting today. In fact I cannot sort out that how a child can learn something with illogical (scenes of flying people etc) and immoral(scenes of hitting and humiliating adults) set of animated scenarios.According to my point of view, they just cutting a path for an immoral and unintelligent new generation. Thus, this is the time we should pay attention on childhood and cartoon. But do you think that in a society where parents give cartoon - bribes for children in order to do their own works and keeping them aside for a while, can voice out against the negative impact of cartoons on childhood? IT IS IMPOSSIBLE.Thus, we can change the prevailing cartoon-habits replacing morally enriched cartoons;i.e.,"kumbichchee", "dosthara hitha honda" ect, with them concerning it as a nation's necessity.
ReplyDeleteYes. it is tragic how today’s cartoon system has changed a lot into a negative thing. This issue should be taken seriously by the authorities. Cartoons are a must for kids to spend their leisure time. The only option left there is to replace these negative cartoons with good ones which have a moral. If this continues the future generation would not be so good to look at. Because kids tend to imitate cartoon characters, and they become habits that would be hard to replace.
ReplyDeleteThus the government should take immediate action about this situation. Replacing bad cartoons with cartoons like, ,"kumbichchee", "dosthara hitha honda" ect as jayani stated would be a great idea.
I think cartoon is a powerful tool in creating a child's early age. They grab everything in a strong way at childhood. They can remember everything seen on television, especially the cartoons like we still remember what cartoons we watched and what happened in them. So,parents have to choose good ones among many because it can affect child's life in a good or bad way. There are some cartoons which give moral lessons. They teach life in an interesting way.I agree with Jayani that cartoons like "dosthara hoda hitha","kubichchi" such cartoons were really good that they taught us life lessons.I really love the cartoon"dagara waliga lapa vanara",it gives the message that people should not destroy forests and animals. It paved the way for me, being a nature lover. But at present, there are some cartoons which can affect children in a negative way. Most of them include fights, killing scenes, using guns, using mobile phones and so on.So,children tend to do those things at home.At the same time,Children should watch cartoons with a limit because eyes can be damaged and researchers found that watching cartoons has a negative impact on power of memory.
ReplyDeleteOf course the children should be guided under parental supervision when they watch cartoons because nowadays there are only few cartoons which make children's positive attitudes. When we were children there were lots of cartoons which helped us to make our lives with moral lessons. Dosthara hoda hitha, kubichchi, iguru pan malli are some of them. Yet unfortunately today's children do not have such types of cartoons which give moral lessons as nowadays cartoon system has become a tragedy. Therefore the parents should be able to pay their attention on children and to select good cartoons for their children to watch.
ReplyDeleteToday there are large amount of cartoons telecast on the television one after the other. So children are addicted to entirely watch cartoons in their lesure time. It is fine to watch cartoons, but there is no moral to learn from cartoons today. Most of them are telecasted to fulfill commercial purposes. Also some of them develop aggressive and violent behaviours in children, because children tend to imitate cartoon characters who pretend to be heroes. The Cartoon"Benten" is a perfect example. TV channels and other authorities should responsible for this pathetic situation. Therefore, parents must keep eye on the content of cartoons and there should be a limitation.
